Around The Block began when PropertyGuru approached Amanda to create a series exploring Singapore’s neighbourhoods beyond property listings and postal codes. Guided by curiosity, she uncovers the people, places, food and everyday details that give each neighbourhood its unique character.
More than a neighbourhood guide, the series invites viewers to slow down, look closer and rediscover the familiar through cinematic visuals and personal storytelling. Around The Block went on to win a Gong Award—recognising the strength of its creative concept and its fresh, human approach to telling local stories.

Through her personal narrative, Amanda reflects on why Singapore is often called “boring” and reframes that sense of normalcy as something worth appreciating. From walking through the heartlands and deciding what to eat to sitting by the water and watching planes pass overhead, the campaign captures the quiet routines we often take for granted.
By weaving everyday life with subtle glimpses of those serving across land, air, sea and the digital space, the film recognises the people who work quietly behind the scenes to keep Singapore safe. It is a heartfelt reminder that this kind of “boring” is not ordinary. It is a privilege.

CLAUDE — KEEP THINKING
It begins with a late-night question—why would an astronaut return to Earth slightly younger? Rather than asking Claude for a quick answer and taking it at face value, Amanda uses the conversation as a starting point: questioning the explanation, breaking down the science and following each thought until the idea truly makes sense.
More importantly, it reflects a thoughtful approach to AI—not as a replacement for curiosity or independent thought, but as a tool that encourages us to ask better questions, explore ideas more deeply and keep thinking beyond the first answer.

Guided by her own personal narrative, Amanda returns to Mandai Wildlife Reserve to relive the childhood memories that shaped her love for animals. As she journeys through the park, each photo spot becomes part of the story, where she reveals fascinating animal facts, sparking moments of nostalgia and offering new ways to experience a familiar place.
